The fine Bed & Breakfast
In 2019 we opened our Bed & Breakfast with a total of eight rooms in the heart of the Croatian peninsula of Istria. We have, ourselves, travelled widely and can appreciate warm hospitality imbued with heart, style and attention to detail. We have combined all this and our enjoyment of art and beautiful things for you in our Foscari fine Bed & Breakfast, starting from two houses in the square of the historic centre of Svetvinčenat. In this Renaissance town we have, over the years, gradually refurbished a dilapidated piece of history adjacent to the medieval Castle into a small pearl.
Far away from the hustle and bustle of tourism, you can dive into the Foscari, an oasis of peace and relaxation. At the same time, thanks to its central location, the Foscari is an ideal starting point to experience the diverse cultural and leisure offerings of the region. Attractions such as the picturesque town of Rovinj or the Roman ruins in the coastal town of Pula and the most beautiful beaches are within easy reach.
YOUR HOSTS
We are Primus Camenzind and Guido Häfliger and we live - when we are not in Svetvinčenat – by Lake Lucerne in the heart of Switzerland. Originally a fiduciary and an interior decorator, we have combined our various skills which has enabled us to turn an old, historical ruin into a pearl ... and this, far from home. But our shared passion and the joy of being hosts has always encouraged us on our long and sometimes arduous journey.
Today we are delighted to see the joy in the faces of our guests as we have found our second home here.
Art in the houses
In the breakfast room you will be greeted by Liza Minnelli's smile. The author of these six pictures is not Andy Warhol, but Primus Camenzind. The host loves art and that is why Foscari is more than just a fine B & B. The Foscari is a gallery featuring works by artists from all over Europe and Asia.
Exceptional art is also what Guido Häfliger has made out of the eight rooms and the whole house. Each room comes decorated with exquisite taste, a lot of originality, attention to detail and even with a hidden sense of humour. You simply must experience it yourself.
